The entry deadline has passed and the competition is on at the Secrets of Shed Building. Be sure to leave comments at the Secrets of Shed Building website on the designs you like most since reader comments count in the jury process. Pictured here is my entry, the Glass Porch Shed. Below is my walk-through video.

The Urban Rancher recently finished the exterior of his cabin, an important milestone, and won a wind turbine through a contest at Jetson Green.  He also posted an itemized material list of what he’s spent so far building his cabin. The total so far is $3635.97.

Decorated Shed, in the UK, offers a wide selection of garden offices and cabins. Pictured here is a little garden office that’s about 130 square feet. I first saw this on Shedworking.

While researching light weight trailer construction techniques on YouTube I ran across this video of a utility trailer that has been turned into a stealthy tiny living space. On the exterior it looks like an old innocuous cargo trailer but on the inside it’s a cozy little place to live.

I discovered Keith Levy’s blog, The Flying Tortoise, through a post on Lloyd Kahn’s blog. Pictured here is a 1956 Austin WFK home on wheels Keith stumbled across while it was being photographed for a television show in Waihi, New Zealand. You’ll find this and many more alternative homes on The Flying Tortoise.

Marganne posted a link to a story about IC Green on the Low Cost Community Housing Google group. IC Green is located in California and builds a wide range of structures from shipping containers. Great link Marganne!

SHED is an architectural firm in Seattle with a portfolio that includes several small space designs. The garage conversion pictured here is what caught my eye. Many of the homes you’ll see on their website are not tiny, but I liked seeing an architectural firm open to small spaces.
