Foam Dome Homes
These polystyrene dome homes seem to be popping up like mushrooms. They are build by the Japanese company International Dome House and can hold up to intense storms and earthquakes. They are also inexpensive and easy to build.
ProtoHaus Progressing
Ann Holley’s tiny house project is coming along nicely. With the help of her family and fiance she is building a tiny house in Colorado with the plan of moving it to Alfred, New York where it will serve as their home while attending graduate school.

Small Living Journal – Issue 11
In this issue of Small Living Journal we share some of our experiences and how we’ve worked through them. Some of us have also included what we expect to encounter along the way and how we plan to move through those future obstacles. We hope you find it useful to hear our stories and look forward to your comments and questions.
Modular Alternative Hotel
This is a particularly interesting design for a hotel called Snuggles. These small lightweight shapes are designed to interconnect forming an organic grouping of shelters. Snuggles was designed by Berlin-based Raumlabor.
Unabomber or Thoreau
Artist and filmmaker James Benning has been building shed replicas for the past six months. One is modeled after Ted Kaczynski’s cabin and the other is inspired by Henry David Thoreau’s Walden cabin. Spooky stuff me thinks.
This Tiny Life
Hillary and Matt over at This Tiny House had their story told on Apartment Therapy recently. Their tiny house is a small lightweight travel trailer that they are renovating.
Tiny Free House Update
I got myself up to the farm this past weekend to work on my Tiny Free House. Progress has been slow but it’s really starting to look like a house. This past weekend I put the eaves on all four sides, framed in the gables, and even lowered one of the side windows. I realized the side windows were too high once the eaves were on.
