Making adobe bricks is hard work but so simple almost anyone with a strong back can do it with this age old low tech approach.
“It is (was) June in the southwestern USA and as is typical it is hot and very dry-what better time to make adobe bricks because they also like it hot and dry.I had a pile of adobe dirt that I wanted to get rid of and knew I would need these bricks for a future project.”

Derek ‘Deek’ Diedricksen is getting some exposure on Yahoo this weekend. The story covers the DIY aspect of tiny house construction and not so much the tiny house part – but always nice to see good tiny house related press. Nice to see Deek coming out of his shell too… hah… just kidding.
One of the most common questions from new readers has centered around how to build a tiny house. The other most common question was how much does a tiny house cost, but both questions are tied together so I’ll answer both in this post.
Here’s another small house, not tiny, built around two small shipping containers. I like this project particularly because it was done on a frugal budget with lots of DIY sweat equity. The end product is pretty cool too, a mix of funky industrial plus modern cabin.
