If you read my design blog you probably noticed that I recently posted version one of the free house plans for an 8×20 Tiny Solar House. I’ll post an updated version soon that will include feedback from readers. The drawings were made entirely with the free version of Google SketchUp. Heather at The Greenest Dollar posted a great article on how to size a solar system last week. It’s not a simple thing to calculate because there are so many variables to consider, but this article does a great job of summarizing what you need to know. There are now three sets of free tiny house plans available at Tiny House Design. The first is a simple 8×8 Tiny Cabin with a loft. While being incredibly small it still has all the basic features of a larger home like a bathroom, kitchen, storage, and living area. Also available is a 5×8 Tiny Market House which is a trailer mounted tiny house designed for artisians and farmers to take their wares to market.
