The Shepherd’s Rest, located in the UK, builds shepherds huts similar to those that were used for centuries in rural England. These are built with new materials and to a very high level of quality.

Here’s a tiny house for those who crave luxury and have the money to afford it. It costs about $55,000 and features a green roof, SIP (structural insulated panel) construction, and environmentally friendly building materials. Ecospace is located in London.

Very nice little backyard home office built by Ecospace available in the UK. It features a nice modern design, ample insulation, double glazed glass windows, and fairly quick setup.

One of my readers, Rich, pointed this Oregon based tiny house builder out to me. From the look of things they offer a wide range of small cottages at reasonable prices. Many of the designs look like traditional cottages, not all look like this hobbit house inspired house. Thanks again Rich!

I was recently introduced to the folks at Maui Eco Build, a sustainable living company in Maui, Hawaii. They provide a variety of services including modular small home construction. I love this example of the houses they build.

It’s always exciting to see one of my tiny house plans built. This house, built by Mike Irish in Oregon, was inspired by my Tiny Solar House with Gables but is 6-feet longer measuring 8′ by 26′. You can download my free plans from Tiny House Design.

While this 1000+ square foot house isn’t tiny, it is a good example of how new technology and reclaimed materials can be blended in a new energy efficient home with a traditional appearance.

You might have seen this on Facebook over the last few days. It’s the prototype for a tiny house kit that the builder hopes to sell as prefab components or a complete house. It’s a really amazing design too and looks custom, not like a prefab. This variation is 412 square feet and would cost in about $29,000 to build the shell with new materials.

My Facebook page has been great for meeting new people. One of my recent introductions was to Robert, the builder of this amazing little Gypsy Wagon. He builds them for retail art fair display and camping. I’ll do a more complete post on Tiny House Design soon but in the mean time take a look at his photo album of tiny gypsy wagons.
