Experience with a Solar Powered Refrigerator

Off-grid family provides a detailed report on living with a solar powered refrigerator.

“For several months now, the refrigerator has operated smoothly and silently at a constant 4 degrees (C ) at the ‘medium’ setting. There has been no frost or moisture buildup. Our batteries seem to hardly notice the draw.”

Would You Let The Keystone Pipeline in Your Bed?

This video is a riot and might help this message go viral. It’s a bit off-topic but a worthy cause.

Until we show fossil fuel companies that we’re ready for something new, pipelines like Keystone XL are going to keep coming back like an ex-boyfriend who won’t get the hint.

Now is the time to end our unhealthy relationship with dirty energy, and the first step in this breakup is cutting them off.

Methane Digester Part One – Mr Teslonian

This is an extreme off-grid technique for generating methane natural gas that can be used for cooking applications. It’s a bit dangerous to play with gas like this – so caution is a must – but if fossil fuel derived gases are not desired or available know that it’s possible to make gas from waste.

“This is part one of a home made methane producing septic system. Show’s the air lock and the digester barrel, with gas all ready being produced.”
